I’m Gary Smart, owner/operator and have been in the marine canvas/upholstery business in Sequim Washington for over 30 years. My experience was in the Air Force as a Parachute rigger/fabrication specialist, and then for five years at Lockeed Aircraft Service Company in Arizona as a Survival Equipment Specialist.

In college I began honing my skills even further in sewing, upholstery and all other things related. Then, In 1980 upon my arrival in the Pacific Northwest, I began specializing in the upholstery trade. Smart Custom Canvas is a culmination of my enthusiasm for creating effective solutions for my clients and my passion for being on the water.

As a custom shop, I listen to your needs and come up with a solution to fit your boat and budget. I intend for an outstanding result, and will do my best to accomplish it. Thanks for your consideration.
